NEWLY-APPOINTED GreenFuel coach Rodwell Dhlakama is hopeful that he will register a positive start in his campaign at the Eastern Highlands side when they face Simba Bhora in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.

Dhlakama recently joined GreenFuel as their head coach, replacing Bekhithemba Ndlovu and Lloyd Mutasa who were shown the exit door early this week.

The seasoned coach, who has seen duty with several top-flight sides, including ZPC Kariba and Ngezi Platinum, is expected to turn the fortunes at the struggling Ethanol Boys.

GreenFuel have been struggling in their first top-flight campaign, failing to register a win in six outings which saw the executive changing coaches on three occasions.

The team started the campaign with Mutasa, who won the Eastern Region Division One campaign without tasting defeat last season and he was replaced by Ndlovu after three games.

Mutasa was elevated to the technical director’s post but Ndlovu also found results difficult to come by and Dhlakama was brought to the fore.

“I am happy with the team. I managed to train with the boys for two days only and from what I observed, I think we have a chance to play any side in the top-flight.

“My target is to move out of the relegation zone. We are in a very difficult situation and we need to fight hard. The players showed that they can do duty and from my observation we have players who are capable and some of them I know them really well.

“As for our opponents, we have so much respect and as newcomers to the top-flight it is going to be an interesting match. They have a knowledgeable coach who has done well and we approach the game with caution,” said Dhlakama.

GrenFuel are looking for their first three set of points after they registered two draws and four defeats which left them languishing at the bottom of the table.

Simba Bhora, on the other hand, are on a redemption phase after a poor start to the season and have now registered two wins, two draws and two loses for a total eight points.
