THE Minister of Tourism and Hospitality Industry, Barbara Rwodzi has commended members of the Diaspora who are already investing back home, reflecting Zimbabwe’s growing appeal as a premier tourism and investment destination.
The Minister held a successful engagement with the Zimbabwean Diaspora Community in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. And the meeting formed part of the Ministry’s Tourism Cluster-Based Approach, which identifies the Diaspora as a key market segment.
In a post on social media platforms, the Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry said: “Minister Rwodzi highlighted Zimbabwe’s immense tourism potential, from its spectacular natural attractions and rich cultural heritage to the diverse investment opportunities across the Tourism value chain.”
The Minister also emphasized that Zimbabwe’s Foreign Policy was anchored on President Mnangagwa’s Vision 2030 and the mantra, “Zimbabwe is Open for Business,” underscoring that the nation was open to global partnerships as well as welcoming to its citizens in the diaspora, whose participation is vital for tourism growth and national development.
She commended members of the Diaspora who are already investing back home, citing the establishment of Waha Oasis in Norton, a premier tourism facility with two modern event venues, as a shining example of confidence in Zimbabwe’s Tourism Sector.
“Minister Rwodzi further acknowledged the expertise of Zimbabwean professionals abroad, including engineers, teachers, architects and veterinary experts, noting that their skills present valuable opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange,” said the Ministry.
“The Ministry remains committed to fostering these partnerships with the global Zimbabwean community and international investors in pursuit of Vision 2030, aimed at transforming Zimbabwe into an upper middle-income economy through sustainable tourism development.”
