Diego Costa hospitalised

LONDON. — Chelsea striker Diego Costa reportedly spent time in hospital with a mystery illness after returning from international duty.
The 26-year-old sat out the weekend win over Crystal Palace and wasn’t involved again on Tuesday night as the Blues thumped Maribor 6-0.
Boss Jose Mourinho claimed Costa had aggravated a long-standing hamstring problem but according to the Telegraph, that isn’t the case.
After Spain’s 4-0 win over Luxembourg, the striker was allegedly forced to go to hospital.

It is reported Costa had symptoms similar to a severe stomach bug, with no indication as to whether he is fully over it.
Mourinho said prior to the clash with Maribor: “It’s simple. He’s not training because he is not in the condition to do so. I have no idea how long he will be out. Tomorrow he cannot play. The weekend is not important but he cannot play tomorrow.”

The Chelsea boss faces something of a striking crisis for Sunday’s trip to Old Trafford with Costa’s replacement Loic Remy limping off with a groin injury in midweek. — The Mirror.
