The community of Emakhandeni in Bulawayo is in shock following the discovery of the body of Mthabisi Petro Tshuma, whose death is being treated as suspicious.
Mthabisi, a local resident, had been missing for several days before his body was found in the suburb under unclear circumstances.
A neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, revealed that Mthabisi had frequently clashed with community members.
“They accused him of being bisexual and claimed he was spreading loose morals among the youth in the suburb,” the neighbour stated.
This tension in the community was palpable, leading to a growing sense of unease leading up to his disappearance.
The tragic discovery of Mthabisi’s body has amplified calls for justice from his family.
A relative, visibly distraught, expressed the family’s anguish: “We are calling for justice over Mthabisi’s death. We have suffered enough. First, it was his father, Dumisani Tshuma, who also disappeared as the attacks on our family increased. Now, we have found Mthabisi dead.”
As investigations continue, the community is left grappling with grief and uncertainty, demanding answers and accountability for the circumstances surrounding Mthabisi’s untimely death.
