MIDWEEK match Week 15 of the Zifa Southern Region Division One whose matches were played on Wednesday did not disappoint with many exciting clashes taking place.
Log leaders, Arenel Movers were held to a goalless draw away at DRC United in Hwange. They now have their lead at the top cut to seven points as both second and third placed sides, Talen Vision and ZPC Hwange won their matches respectively.
Talen Vision convincingly beat stubborn seventh positioned CIWU side 3-1 when the two sides met at White City.
They continue to sit on second place due to a superior goal difference over ZPC Hwange.
ZPC Hwange themselves were victors in the Matabeleland North derby where they played host to Mosi Rovers, winning the match 2-1. Fourth placed Adachi, who were still smarting from a 2-1 win over Indlovu Iyanyathela again dropped points when they travelled to Filabusi to play 10th placed Jordan Sinnot. The draw meant that Philani “Beefy” Ncube’s side are now 11 points behind leaders Arenel. Army side Indlovu Iyanyathela played out to an entertaining 2-2 draw with Mainline at Saints Ground.
Ninth placed Bosso90 dismissed bottom club Zimbabwe Saints 3-0, who are still winless as the league approaches its midpoint.
Ajax Hotspurs and Ratanang played out to a goalless draw.
The tie did not favour either side as the two teams are still threatened by relegation.
Binga Pirates got an easy three points and three goals as their opponents of the day, Emakhandeni Pirates failed to turn up for their match. Binga were awarded three points courtesy of a walkover.
Casmyn opponents Mountain Climbers also did not travel for the tie and lost on walkover.
