Bulawayo-based DJ and producer Shane Ralph Nkomo, popularly known as DJ Cue, is set to release his debut single by the end of the year, building on his growing reputation from a string of live performances across the city.

The 25-year-old, who is in his final year at Bulawayo Polytechnic, discovered his passion for DJing at a young age.
“In high school, I downloaded DJ software and started making mixtapes. I began performing at school functions, and that sparked my love for live shows,” he said.

Since then, DJ Cue has become a regular fixture on Bulawayo’s music scene, performing at notable events such as House in CBD, Kings Kraal, Garden of House, Nizhe de Soul and Friends, the Amapiano Festival by Group Therapy, Marvel House, Summer Garage Fest hosted by Something Soke, and Juluka Co. Upcoming appearances include a performance at the Hinde Festival in November.
“Every event I play is a chance to grow, learn, and connect with music lovers. Each performance has helped me understand my sound and build my audience,” DJ Cue said.

The DJ revealed that his debut single, set for release before the end of the year, is informed by his live event experience.
“Performing at these shows taught me what resonates with people. By next year, I aim to release an EP, followed by a full album,” he shared.
