A MAN who allegedly fatally stabbed a deejay trying to restrain him from fighting with his ex-wife appeared at the Harare Magistrates Court yesterday.

Ediso Sani (42) appeared before provincial magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi charged with murder and was remanded in custody to April 4. He was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.

Prosecuting, Ms Grace Mugocheke alleged that over the weekend, Sani went to 2105 Egypt in Highfield armed with a sheathed dagger (bakatwa) with an intention to attack his ex-wife, who was at the house for a party.

Upon arrival, he lunged for his wife but was stopped by Cosmas Zimbowa who was the deejay at the party. Sani stabbed him on the neck; twice on the left and right side, in front of witnesses, resulting in Zimbowa dying on the spot.

Sani was found in possession of the knife that he used to commit the crime.
