Popular entertainer, DJ Mzoe (real name Sibanengi Ndebele) will be celebrating his 33rd birthday in style with a bash at Club Forty 40 where over 30 artistes are expected to perform.
Hip hop musician, Cal_Vin, Mzoe 7, Khuxman, Centre Party, MC Tytoh and Izikhothane are expected to headline the bash with fellow DJs Joe tha OG, Black Cee, Teflon, Sweeto, Stones and Lady Fox taking care of business on the decks. The line-up will also include dance groups, Magesh, Sungura Masters, Snipers, Skillz Ti and Beauty Queens.
DJ Mzoe, whose stage name is derived from his second name Mzoetshe, said the bash would also serve as a celebration of his 12-year deejaying career.
“Besides turning 33, I’ll also be celebrating 12 years of being a DJ. I’ll be reflecting from the time I started deejaying at Hustlers Night club in 2003 to Alabama, Groove and Club Forty 40,” said DJ Mzoe.
The former Mzilikazi High School pupil said although he wanted to be a pilot, he did not regret being a DJ as it was a passion which he pursued from a tender age.
“Like any other child, I had ambitions and mine was to be a pilot, but that didn’t work out. Instead I pursued deejaying, a career which has seen me winning DJ battles,” he said.
Through his career, Mzoe has managed to support his daughter as well as buy a vehicle and PA systems.
At the celebrations, DJ Mzoe will launch his clothing label, Byo Hustler, where lucky fans will receive some of the memorabilia.
“Byo Hustler has been on the market for a year now. I was testing the waters to see how people would respond to it. The response has been quite encouraging hence our decision to launch the label. Ten t-shirts branded with my name as well as 100 CDs of my live shows will be given away on the night.”
