DJs Zinhle, AKA welcome baby Kairo

SOUTH Africa’s hip hop artiste AKA and DJ Zinhle on Wednesday evening welcomed a healthy baby girl they named Kairo Owethu Forbes.

The proud father, AKA took to social media networking site Instagram, to share a picture of their bundle of joy.

“We’re proud to announce the arrival of our baby girl KAIRO OWETHU FORBES . . . She’s is healthy and the mother is feeling well. Thank You to all the doctors and nurses at Sandton Medi Clinic and all the friends and family for their well wishes. Blessed.”

AKA’s friend and fellow musician Da Les also took to Instagram to congratulate the new parents.

On Wednesday AKA hung up his cool gloves for the day and donned a medical suit and cap to be present in the delivery room when girlfriend Zinhle gave birth to their daughter.

AKA uploaded an image of himself waiting to see his daughter delivered at Sandton Medi Clinic. “Let’s do this,” he captioned it.

Zinhle wrote a post on her blog, momentsbydjzinhle expressing how excited she was to meet her bundle of joy.

“It’s the day before the birth of our precious buddle of joy and I have literally spent the last month, packing for this day. I don’t think one can ever be fully prepared for an occasion like this.”

An elated Zinhle went on to add that she was more than prepared for her baby girl.

“Comfort is key, our privacy is everything, familiarity is important and it has to be a fabulous occasion! It appears that all my wishes will be granted as my baby’s father has reserved a luxury private room for us at the hospital.

“I have imagined the room with flowers everywhere, a beautiful carrycot, the smell of home, tea, family and friends.” — Sunday World, Times Live, Showbiz Reporter
