It was double delight for log leaders Chicken Inn after gaffer Rahman Gumbo and defender Moses Jackson were named Coach of the Month and Player of the Month for August.
Gumbo collected 13 points from five games thanks to victories against Caps United, Triangle, Black Rhinos and Hwange plus a crucial away draw at FC Platinum.
Jackson has been a pillar at centre back for the log leaders who conceded two goals in five matches in August.
Gumbo credited the awards to teamwork and felt skipper Jackson deserves it.
“Jackson deserves it because he has been working hard leading the team from the back and scoring important goals. Everything goes down to teamwork because without unity of purpose we wouldn’t be where we are and we wouldn’t have won the awards.
“I’m so humbled by the fact that the selectors really recognise our efforts and these awards will certainly push us to work even harder,” said Gumbo.
