ABOUT 35 Doves Funeral Services workers from all its branches across the country received long service awards after serving the company for between 10 to 20 years at a ceremony hosted by the company in Harare last week.
The company’s stores controller, Mrs Elizabeth Godo, stole the limelight as she walked away with the longest serving employee award after serving the company for the past 20 years.

Doves Funeral Assurance managing director Mr Talent Maziwisa, who presided over the awards ceremony, said the company was grateful to employees that have stuck with the company over the years.

“I would like to thank you for your contribution and commitment to Doves throughout the years. For those who have been here for more than 20 years, it has indeed been a long association and you have witnessed the growth of the organisation as well as the many challenges that have taken place within the company over the years.

“You have also seen the expensive fleet replenishment, the introduction of buses and the birth of very competitive products which have accorded us a stronghold in  the funeral industry.

What we need to do is to make sure that we remain employable by our commitment to deliver quality service to our clients at all times,” he said.

The group, which has been in existence for more than 100 years, has three lines of business, namely provision of funeral services, funeral assurance and coffin and casket manufacturing.
