DPM Khupe SA-bound

has seen her taking sick leave for the past two months.

DPM Khupe withdrew from public life soon after the violence-riddled MDC-T Bulawayo congress after she went on sick leave to allow her to be treated for breast cancer.
She resumed her public duties on Monday this week in the capital before she left for Bulawayo midweek.

The DPM is expected to leave Bulawayo for South Africa tomorrow.
“She will be leaving for South Africa for chemotherapy. The DPM is out of danger as evidenced by the fact that she has since resumed duties,” said a source.

The DPM could not be reached for comment last night.
Over the past two months, DPM Khupe has been the least visible of the six principals of the inclusive Government.

Despite several false stories that President Mugabe is not well, he has been the most visible while DPM Khupe has been conspicuous by her absence since the party’s congress.

DPM Khupe supervises the social cluster in Cabinet and she has in the past been at the forefront trying to raise US$2 million in a bid to equip all central hospitals with state of the art machinery to mitigate maternal mortality.
