BULAWAYO based poet Dr Gasolo has joined American long-distance walker Eddie Bond on a section of the latter’s historic walkathon from Cape Town in South Africa, to Cairo in Egypt.

Dr Gasolo joined Bond in Plumtree town and they are currently on the 100 kilometre stretch to Bulawayo in the continental journey that has drawn attention across Africa and on social media.

Dr Gasolo is popularly known for his annual walkathon dubbed the “Dr Gasolo Long Walk To Success,” which takes place every year in August from Gwanda Matshetsheni, which is his rural home, via Gwanda town to Bulawayo.

Commenting on the walk, Dr Gasolo said, “Jeys Marabini told me about Bond and we met in Plumtree to welcome him in Zimbabwe and now we are on our way to Bulawayo,” said Dr Gasolo.
