ZIMBABWE Anti-Sanctions Trust (ZAST) chairperson Dr Norbert Hosho has launched a book on the Sino-Zimbabwe partnership from 2014 to 2024.
The book called “Allies in Adversity” outlines the bilateral relations and cooperation between Zimbabwe and China over the past decade.
The book launch coincided with the Southern African Development Community (SADC)-declared Anti-Sanctions Day.
Speaking at the launch ceremony, Dr Hosho said the book stands as a reflection of his belief that through collaboration and mutual support, people can navigate even the most turbulent waters.
“This moment is not merely a celebration of written work, it is a testament to the journey that has shaped its creation, a journey marked by challenges, perseverance and an unwavering commitment to fostering solidarity among nations,” he said.
“As we reflect on the past decade, we recognise that this book serves as an essential contribution to understanding the intricate dynamics of international relations, particularly between Zimbabwe and China.
“It sheds light on how partnerships can be forged even amid adversity, offering insights that are crucial for policymakers, scholars and citizens alike.
“In a world where narratives are often shaped by selective perspectives, this book stands out as a beacon of clarity. In crafting this book, I have sought to encapsulate not just the historical narrative of the Sino-Zimbabwean partnership but also the spirit of resilience that defines both our nations.”
Dr Hosho said throughout the past decade, Zimbabwe has faced numerous adversities-but has found strength in its allies.
