Dr Thebe Ikalafeng presents book on African Unity to President Mnangagwa

IN a significant cultural exchange, Dr Thebe Ikalafeng, founder of Brand Africa, presented his latest book, The Traveller: Crossing Borders and Connecting Africa, to President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The ceremony took place during the 2024 Zimbabwe Exporters Week, highlighting the importance of branding and connectivity across the continent.

Dr Ikalafeng, a renowned branding icon, has dedicated his career to elevating Africa’s profile on the global stage. As the founder of Brand Africa, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the narrative around the continent, focusing on its potential and opportunities.

His life’s mission encompasses a deep commitment to promoting African unity and identity. He has traveled to

every African country.

The book, which explores themes of intercontinental connectivity and collaboration, aligns with the broader goals of the Zimbabwean Government, particularly about the Vision 2030 initiative aimed at transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy.

During the handover, President Mnangagwa praised Dr Ikalafeng’s efforts in advocating for Africa and emphasised the importance of collaboration in achieving economic growth and unity. The event celebrates African literature and reinforces the message of interconnectedness essential for the continent’s development.

As the Exporters Week continues, discussions surrounding branding and market access are expected to resonate, further driving the agenda of promoting African products and services globally.
