This is an open competition for all cars and motorcycles. Participants will be expected to fork out $10 per car for insurance with participation free.
BMC spokesperson Leonora Young confirmed this yesterday.
“The Victoria Falls Road Circuit will once again come alive this weekend with the second drag race being held after our first race was held in March and our gates will be open from 12 noon and registration will begin then,” Young said.
Competitors from all walks of life are welcome and there will be different classes that will be raced in a knockout format to come up with the winners from each class but there will be an overall winner at the end of the day.
Any car owner can drive to the circuit and engage in competition with a car of the same engine capacity.
In the car classes there will be Class A with cars ranging from 0-1600 cubic centimetres (cc), Class B between 1601-2000 cc, Class C between 2001-3000 cc, Class D 3001 cc and over, Class TA 0-2000 cc turbo charged, Class TB 2001 cc and over while all classes of bakkies and bikes will be allowed.
Fans will pay $5 per person while children will gain entrance for free.
Young expressed gratitude to Suzuki Centre, Car-Tech, Greens Supermarkets, Tin Cup, Absolute Aqua, Prestige Paints, Colour World and Safeguard who are sponsoring the event.
