Drama as woman relieves herself at bus rank

stunned fellow vendors and travellers when she relieved herself in the open following a vending stall ownership wrangle with other vendors.
The heavily built vendor-cum rank marshal, only identified as Musoja later proceeded to sit on top of her faeces and heavily soiling herself as she resisted arrest by the police who had intervened to calm her down.
The incident, which brought business at the busy terminus to a brief standstill occurred yesterday at about 9.30 am.
When Chronicle newscrew arrived at the scene, the woman had been whisked in her soiled state to Gweru Central Police Station.
Witnesses to the drama-filled incident said it all started when Musoja arrived at her usual selling point at the bus terminus only to find all the space occupied by rival vendors.
“Musoja, who is well-known at the bus terminus then tried in vain to reason with the other vendors to avail some space for her so that she could also display her wares which included carrier bags and some consumables,” said Mr Thompson Machisa a newspaper vendor at the terminus.
Mr Machisa said when Musoja failed to get a favourable response from her fellow vendors, she became violent and threw away their wares before proceeding to display hers.
“There was some commotion as the vendors began to throw away each other’s wares while fighting for space. Some of the vendors sympathised with Musoja while others were against her. Those who sympathised with Musoja argued that the point in question traditionally belonged to the vendor-cum rank marshal,” he said.
Another witness only identified as Mr Shava said Musoja then stunned onlookers when she exposed her backside and relieved herself in front of the crowd gathered at the disputed point.
“When she initially hinted that she would soil the point which they were fighting for, no one took her seriously but we were shocked when she lowered her tracksuit bottom and relieved herself in front of a huge crowd,” he said.
Mr Shava said on-lookers were treated to more drama when Musoja resisted police arrest by sitting on her faeces and soiled herself further in the process.
“When two police officers who were at the scene moved in to arrested her for indecent exposure, she sat on top of her waste. As they battled to handcuff her, she grabbed some of the faeces and threatened to soil the police officers,” said another witness.
The witnesses said the police officers later managed to arrest Musoja and took her to Gweru Central Police Station.
Musoja was still in police cells by yesterday evening.
Acting police spokesperson for Midlands Assistant Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident when he was contacted for comment yesterday.
He, however, said he was still to get the finer details from the relevant station.
“We have received information to that effect but I am still to get in touch with the relevant station to get the full details of the matter,” said Asst Insp Mahoko.
