FOR many learners, few moments compare to the joy of holding a results slip filled with excellent grades, a reflection of years of discipline, sacrifice, determination and commitment.

Beyond making parents and guardians proud, such results often mark the first step towards fulfilling lifelong dreams.

For Bradley Bongani Sibanda of Nkulumane suburb in Bulawayo, that dream has become clearer after he achieved an outstanding 20 points in the 2025 Advanced Level examinations.

Bradley, who sat for his examinations at Bulawayo Adventist High School, scored straight As in Accounting, Statistics, Business Enterprise and Skills and Economics. With ambitions of becoming an accountant, he believes his results have opened doors to his desired career path.

“I am humbled and overly excited by my results. I thank God because without Him I would not have achieved this. Hard work and dedication are very important because without them, no one can achieve such results,” he said.
Bradley also credited his family for keeping him grounded and focused.

“I urge parents to always support and pray for their children. Without my family’s prayers, I might have derailed from my vision,” he said.

Bradley is among several high-performing learners who helped push the 2025 A-Level pass rate to an impressive 95,75 percent.

Another top achiever is Mzingaye Ndlela, a former Mtshabezi High School learner, who also attained 20 points after scoring straight As in Pure Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science and Statistics.

Aspiring to study Actuarial Science, Mzingaye said the journey to success demanded consistency and strong support systems.

“Getting these points was not a walk in the park. I had supportive teachers, particularly my Computer Science teachers, who made exam preparations easier,” he said.

Mzingaye also paid tribute to his parents for ensuring his education was uninterrupted.
“They paid my fees and were always supportive throughout my education journey,” he said.

For Ratanang Ndlovu, who dreams of becoming a doctor, hard work paid off with three As in Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry at Minda High School.

“I couldn’t believe my results when I saw them. It still feels unreal,” she said.
Ratanang emphasised the importance of collaboration and guidance.

“One piece of advice I would give to learners writing this year is that teamwork is very important. Listening to teachers and parents also plays a big role in success,” she said

Bulawayo-based content creator Moses Ncube proved that academic excellence and creative pursuits can coexist.
A former learner at Mpopoma High School, Moses studied Business Studies, Economics and Statistics while actively growing his social media brand.

“I am happy that I managed to balance school, social media influence and gigs. This proves that one can excel in both academics and talent,” he said.

Moses expressed optimism about securing a university place.
“I am really happy with my results and hopeful that I will get a place without hassles,” he said.

Another achiever, Nyasha Nembaware (19), attributed her straight As in Accounting, Economics and Business Studies to discipline and consistency.

“I feel proud of what I managed to achieve and I am hopeful it will be easy for me to get a place at one of the prestigious universities,” she said.

Nyasha expressed gratitude to her family for unwavering support.
“I am especially thankful to my aunt and father, who have always supported my academic journey,” she said.

According to the Zimbabwe School Examinations Council (Zimsec), the national pass rate for the November 2025 Advanced Level examinations stood at 95,75 percent, a slight increase from 94,58 percent in 2024.

A total of 36 635 candidates sat for the examinations, up from 33 585 the previous year — representing a 9,08 percent increase. Of these, 36 282 candidates wrote two or more subjects, with 34 740 attaining Grade E or better, the minimum requirement to pass.
