There are now growing fears of disease outbreaks in affected areas that bore the brunt of a cholera outbreak three years ago. Over 4 000 people died of cholera countrywide in 2008.
Most boreholes drilled by Unicef in high-density suburbs are now dysfunctional owing to lack of maintenance and repair.
