DT AFRICA United will return to the World Navi Northern Region Division One League after their success in the Harare Province Division Two league this year.
The Wieslaw Grabowski-owned side have been in the wilderness for close to seven years.
The team, popular for nurturing raw talent, will be joined in Division One by Cargo Carriers.
DT Africa United produced the likes of Norman Mapeza, Stewart Murisa, Alois Bunjira, Dickson Choto, Shingi Kawondera, Musareka Jenitala, the late Felix Antonio and a number of players who made a big impact in local football.
The World Navi Northern Region Division One league lost six teams through relegation – Royal Classic, Lake Harvest, Twalumba, Seven Flames, Blue Swallows and Chegutu Pirates.
Another promoted side Cargo Carriers say this a big step for them.
Club chairman Langton Ruswa said their aim was to play in the Premiership.
“We are happy to join the World Navi Northern Region Division One and this is a good move for the team which is seeking to play in the top-flight in a few seasons to come,” said Ruswa.
“We had a very good season, in which we lost only two matches, on our way to claim top spot.
“Now that we are in Division One, we are not going to end there as it is everyone’s wish to play in the top-flight league. “We have some good players, who can match any opponents, and I think the platform will expose them to flourish as top players.”
Cargo Carriers will use GMB Aspindale as their home ground.
“We have been in Division Two for two years and in the first year we finished fifth but this year we made sure we will end up playing in Division One.”
