Duri hails Ward 6 residents’ contribution to Zimbabwe

Ward 6 Churu Councillor Zodiac Duri has hailed the contribution made by residents to the development of Zimbabwe, saying they deserve to benefit from planned regularisation and improved infrastructure.

Speaking at a Ward 6 pre-budget consultative and feedback meeting on Sunday, Cllr Duri said the Government’s decision to regularise suburbs around Trabablas Interchange recognised the importance of the area.

“That is why the President, Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa and the Minister of Local Government and Public Works said all suburbs near Trabablas should be regularised,” he said.

Cllr Duri said Ward 6 was strategically important as it was among the areas through which visitors entering Zimbabwe from South Africa pass.

“This ward is the one that receives visitors from South Africa,” he said.

He said the regularisation of suburbs in the southern part of Harare would help ensure that the area had infrastructure and an environment that reflected its importance as a gateway into the country.

“That is why the President saw it fit that the southern region should be regularised and have infrastructure that is presentable and suits the Trabablas,” he said.
