Dynamos head coach Saul Chaminuka has highlighted the deterioration of Rufaro Stadium’s playing surface and called for its suspension.
Chaminuka raised his concerns after watching his side suffer a two-nil defeat at the hands of Herentals on Saturday.
The Dynamos gaffer said authorities need to suspend the use of the stadium as it no longer meets Premier Soccer League standards.
“I think the pitch has deteriorated. We train on a better pitch, but we come to play on a pitch that is beyond repair.
“This ground should be suspended so that it recovers. I don’t know what the owners of the pitch think about it,” said Chaminuka.
Rufaro Stadium currently hosts four top premier league teams and is also used by some of the ZIFA Northern Region Soccer League sides.
It is home to Dynamos, Caps United, and Herentals.
The stadium was re-opened last year, having been closed in 2019 to allow for refurbishments.
Harare Mayor Jacob Mafume said the refurbishments cost US$1 million.

Rufaro stadium is an embarrassment and has become a joke.
