DYNAMOS may be in turmoil but former Highlanders FC goalscoring hero, Zenzo Moyo says it is in times like these that the Harare giants are most dangerous to face.
DeMbare players are refusing to train, demanding outstanding bonuses and signing-on fees.
The team has reportedly not paid any bonuses this season and players say they will only train once they get paid.
Though their preparations for the game have been shambolic, that is likely not to be a factor as this is a game where statistics and facts to the history behind the epic encounter do not matter.
“One will be reading from the wrong script to think because Dynamos have had some days without training and that will affect their performance on Sunday. This is one game where form or history counts for nothing. It’s a game that is won by whoever wants it more on the day.
“Actually, with this kind of build up to the game, Dynamos becomes more dangerous because even if they lose the match they will argue they did not train hence they lost the match. This adds the pressure on Highlanders because they are expected to beat this team, which did not train,” said Moyo.
The last time these two giants clashed at Rufaro was back in November 2019 and the contest ended 1-1.
After that, the old Mbare venue was closed for renovations that never seemed to end, the refurbishment stretched for five years.
The biggest game in the land will return to Rufaro Stadium on Sunday.
“The venue for this game doesn’t matter in this game. My advice to the Bosso players will be to forget about the names at the back of their jerseys and play for the badge in front. I wish my former team all the best in this big game,” said Moyo.
Bosso have just one win in their last eight games and are eight points behind log leaders FC Platinum.
But form and off-the-field issues do not usually become a factor when Dynamos and Highlanders collide.
In the opening match of the 2024 PSL season, Bosso beat their bitter rivals 2-1 at Barbourfields Stadium back in March.
