DYNAMOS head coach Herbert Maruwa has revealed teenage sensation Elton Chikona will be going to Finland in the next month.

Maruwa was speaking ahead of their date with Hwange at Barbourfields on Sunday.

Just like Bill Antonio, Chikona is set for Europe after spending just half of the season with DeMbare.

Chikona will leave for Finland in the next month to a yet-unnamed club and is one of the best strikers in the Premiership this season.

He has made six appearances in which he has managed three goals and two assists.

“He is a good youngster and a very good player. He is one for the future and he is set for Finland,” said Maruwa.

“It’s good for our country to have youngsters breaking into Europe. After playing six games only he has managed to impress, this is very encouraging and gives us hope in playing youngsters in our team.”

Dynamos won the reverse fixture against Hwange 1-0 in the first leg encounter and are looking forward to collecting maximum points in a bid to reduce the nine-point gap between them and log leaders Highlanders.

“It’s a new game altogether, a lot has happened and now we have to quickly get prepared and focus on our new game and forget about the Yadah game.

“I am happy there is a lot of progress in the team especially in the scoring department, goals are coming. We have managed to score more than three goals against ZPC, Sheasham and Yadah. So on a good day, we can score goals.

“Our support base in Bulawayo is very encouraging, the supporters there have passion and it’s helping us as the team, the youngsters are able to express themselves and we are getting results.”

Maruwa is not bothered by playing cup matches during the course of the league campaign as he believes his squad depth will power them through.

The First round of the Chibuku Super Cup will be played on the weekend of August 12-13 followed by quarter-finals on weekend of September 23-24, semi-finals October 28-29 and the final brings the curtain down on November 25.

“We hope that all our players won’t be injured so that we keep rotating them. Last week we changed the team and this week we are going to change again. I think in terms of depth we are okay and we will manage to compete in the league and the cup.”Rum fuga.
