THE ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League have assured Dynamos Juniors, who play under their league, that their delayed Best of the Best Trophy final will be played when the season’s curtain comes down this month.

Dynamos Juniors were the finalists and were supposed to play the finals during the mid-season break. Unfortunately their opponents, Avondale Athletic Club, folded because of financial challenges.

Speaking at the launch of the ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League Trophy to be played this month, league chairman, Robert Tembo, said they are aware of the pending final and it will be fulfilled.

Musa Gwasira, the Dynamos development official, was assured that they will play their final after the league’s curtain comes down.

“We had a challenge pertaining to the Best of the Best Trophy after the team which had qualified for the final, Avondale Athletic Club, folded and is no longer in existence. We will see how we go about it but we are likely to have a semi-final between the two losers BN Academy and Simbisa who were supposed to play for third and fourth place to play Dynamos.

“We are glad that we are also able to announce the ZIFA Harare Province Division Two League Trophy which will be played as soon as we finish the season. Our season began in November last year and it is going to end on September 23 and we will have a short break before we have the trophy.

“The clubs have approached us for a challenge trophy and it is good for us to help them organise the tournament. We are going to have a long break so it will be prudent for the clubs to remain active as we are likely to start the 2023-24 season at the end of November,” said Tembo.

So far 22 clubs out of 36 in the league have confirmed their availability and there will be some medals and a floating trophy for the winners as well as prize money in the access of US$2 000.
