CALUM “White Lion” English-Brown is a disappointed man.
The midfielder is cursing the day he decided to join Castle Lager Premiership side Chicken Inn where he was even reduced to a ball retriever at training during his eight month stay in the city of Kings.
His plight has afforded Dynamos another chance to finally land their long-term target after missing out this year.
In fact, the 22-year-old, is already training with DeMbare and coach, Genesis Mangombe has shown keen interest to offer him a deal.
Gamecocks boss, Prince Matore restricted White Lion to just 30 minutes of action and these were just stoppage time cameos.
According to his parent club, Legends Academy, justice was not being served, and they requested to end his two-year loan deal.
English-Brown is one of the Legends Academy quartet which is set to undergo trials at English Premiership side, Everton next month.
He told Zimpapers Sports Chicken Inn misled the public that he was not getting game time because of a series of injuries.
“I was never given an opportunity to play, I got a total of 30 minutes throughout my stay.
“I sensed trouble when the coach who convinced me to join the team was replaced. At first it never bothered me because I knew I was going to fight for my place regardless.
“But, it was a different case, I want to thank everyone at the club who kept encouraging me during that period but I saw no point of continuing because I was being totally ignored,” said English-Brown.
He said the coach would look sideways each time he would seek to get explanation.
“Obviously I’m very disappointed with how things went at Chicken inn, I wanted to continue fighting but sometimes signs can tell if it’s worth it.
“The coach would never talk to me or explain what was going on. Instead he would tell the media and anyone who asked that I was injured or just not fit which wasn’t true.
“I’m happy now to be back at home and I’m in a better environment now. I hope I can continue to progress my career next season playing somewhere I can be appreciated and given a chance,” he told Zimpapers Sports.
Mangombe said he is more than surprised with how things did not go as hoped for English-Brown at Chicken Inn.
He insisted that White Lion is one of the most technically gifted players in the league and a future Warriors star.
“I rate English-Brown highly and if you ask me, his understanding of the game is second to a just a few, he is technically gifted.
“I don’t know how he failed to convince Chicken Inn that he is a baller or maybe he is just deceiving me here at training but I feel he is a player who can play for the Warriors for a long time.
“I really worried about his situation and we are going to try our best to get his signature,” said Mangombe.
Green Fuel, Simba Bhora and Manica Diamonds are also said to be monitoring his situation.
