Eaglesvale sink Hillcrest

their victory against Hillcrest at the Cottco rugby festival yesterday.
Ruzvidzo played a major role in securing his team’s victory.
He contributed to the teams’ second try in the 10th minute before featuring strongly in the defensive act in the second half of the match.
Ruzvidzo set up Tinashe Songare who scored the first try for Eaglesavle.
In second half, Ruzvidzo was in full cry again and in the fifth minute he found Givemore Sumuperi who scored a try before Ralph Tirivanhu converted.
“It was quite a tough game, we tried our best and I am happy that we played without injuries. We also played as a team,” said Ruzvidzo.
“Our defence was good because the only chance that Hillcrest got to register a score was through penalties and not tries.
“I am looking forward to Saturday’s match against Lomagundi.”
Eaglesvale coach, Arthur Musikavanhu, believes that there is more to come from his team in the future.
“I think the boys played very well and we just need to work on our finishing but there is more from this team.
“I am happy with boys, they did well today,” said Musikavanhu.
Hillcrest coach, Daglas Rajah, said his boys probably paid a huge price for their smaller stature.
“The boys played well though they did not win, I think it is basically lack of experience.
“Our biggest challenge so far has been on the forwards, most of our opposition are bigger in size.
“Most of our players are still learning but I am confident that the more they play the faster they will learn.” Rajah said.
Dawson Pasiri scored two penalties for Hillcrest.   
The second best game on Avenues Field saw Bernard Mizeki College, who joined the big teams on Tuesday, put up a determined show against Prince Edward II before falling 5-14.
BMC coach Gabriel Tachiveyi said they were let down by poor ball handling.
