With just three days remaining to the highly anticipated concert, Ecobank Legends Night, organisers are thrilled to announce additional partners joining the initiative.
The event seeks to honour Zimbabwean music legends who paved the way for emerging talent.
Hosted by the popular boy band, ‘In Total’ in collaboration with Ecobank, the concert has attracted an impressive lineup of partners, including radio station Star FM, EarGround, Prime Migration Solutions, David Seth Foundation, Stage Line, and Gateway Stream.
These collaborations reflect a shared commitment to promoting local talent and recognising the contributions of Zimbabwe’s musical pioneers.
Head of communications at Prime Migration Solutions emphasised the vital role that the arts play in transforming lives.
Chikosi articulated the company’s belief that supporting young artists was essential for fostering creativity and opportunity within the community.
“Nurturing emerging artists allows them to hone their skills and ensures that the voices of young talent are articulated within the cultural landscape,” he said.
Chikosi highlighted the importance of mentorship provided by established musicians, who can significantly influence the trajectory of young artists.
“By partnering with legends, emerging talents gain valuable insights and experience that can shape their careers. This mentorship is crucial for developing a new generation of musicians who will continue to enrich the cultural fabric of Zimbabwe,” he said.
He also aligned their efforts with social responsibility initiatives like the David Seth Foundation, which provides support to widows and orphans through educational and artistic opportunities.
Chikosi said the foundation’s commitment to creating pathways for artistic expression, underscoring the belief that the arts can serve as a powerful tool for social change.
Looking ahead, Chikosi expressed optimism about the future of the arts sector, driven by the creativity of young talents.
He foresees innovative collaborations between emerging artists and established legends, blending traditional artistry with contemporary forms.Chikosi’s vision reflects a broader trend within the arts community, where diversity and innovation are celebrated.
“As young artists gain exposure to different styles and influences, they will likely create new genres that resonate with a wide audience while honoring their cultural heritage.”
Sharing the same sentiments Joseph Chinouriri, the band director of In Total, expressed his excitement about the upcoming concert.
With rehearsals in full swing, he said is confident that the event will be a memorable experience for attendees.
“We are thrilled with the many partners supporting young talent. The stage is set, and the response from fans and corporate partners has been fantastic,” Chinouriri said.
“The concert promises to be a nostalgic journey, featuring timeless hits that appeal to music lovers of all ages. It will not only celebrate the legends of Zimbabwean music but also serve as a platform for young artists to showcase their talents.”
He said that the event will be recorded and shared on social media, ensuring that the magic of the night reaches a broader audience.
Chinouriri also revealed ambitious plans for the Legends Night concept to expand internationally. “Discussions are already underway for similar events in Bulawayo, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
“After the April 6 event, we aim to take this concept globally. We will provide further details soon,” he concluded.
