EcoCash has once again risen above the rest, being crowned the 2025 Superbrand Overall Winner of the Year, a remarkable reaffirmation of its place among Zimbabwe’s most iconic and influential brands.
The glamorous Superbrand Awards Dinner, hosted on November 28, 2025 at the HICC, sparkled with prestige and purpose under this year’s bold theme, “Brand Equity as a Balance Sheet Asset.” Powered by ZimGold and ZimSwitch Technologies, the evening celebrated excellence, innovation, and the visionary brands shaping Zimbabwe’s ever-evolving economic story.
MAZ Executive Secretary, Mr Gillian Rusike, captured the spirit of the evening with a reminder that, “Marketing means business. It is not merely a department, but the strategic backbone of organisational success, shaping every decision, every interaction, and every touchpoint.”
His message echoed throughout the room, reinforcing the strategic importance of brand-building in today’s competitive marketplace.
The ceremony was further elevated by the presence of the Permanent Secretary for Industry and Commerce, Dr Thomas Wushe, who applauded local brands for their resilience, ingenuity and impact on both the economy and communities. He was joined by distinguished industry leaders from Malawi and Zambia.
These also included ZimSwitch Technologies CEO, Mr Zabron Chilakalaka, and the ZimGold Commercial Director, Mr Aman Jyoti, who collectively celebrated the outstanding achievements of this year’s top performers.
Among the night’s standout successes was Dairibord Zimbabwe, which stole the spotlight by securing the highest number of awards across multiple categories – an impressive testament to its enduring consistency, quality, and market leadership. ZB Financial Holdings also enjoyed a strong showing, earning recognition for its rising brand visibility and a refreshed customer-centric strategy that resonated across the market.
In beverages, Champion Beer (Carling Black Label) made a remarkable impression, while long-standing giants Econet, Mazoe, Impala, and Star FM once again cemented their dominance in their various sectors, proving that strong brands not only lead but endure.
The Top Five Business-to-Consumer (B2C) brands reflected innovation and strong consumer relevance, showcasing the leaders that continue to shape everyday experiences.
In fifth place was Nyaradzo, admired for its reliable and compassionate insurance solutions, followed by Mazoe in fourth, a beloved staple in Zimbabwean households.
Econet secured third place for its continued transformation of connectivity and customer experience, while Coca-Cola took second as the evergreen global favourite with unmatched brand strength. Leading the list was EcoCash, the game-changing platform that revolutionised digital payments and redefined financial convenience for millions.
In the Business-to-Business (B2B) space, the top brands stood out for their influence, trust, and industry-leading performance, with CBZ securing first place as a financial titan, followed by CABS in second position for its steady, reliable, and competitive presence.
Delta Corporation claimed third place, reinforcing its status as a dominant force in production and distribution, while CIMAS took fourth for its strong leadership in health services. Rounding off the top five was Seed Co Zimbabwe, widely recognised as the backbone of agricultural innovation.
Enia Zimunya concluded the evening by extending heartfelt gratitude to all in attendance, acknowledging the delegates, partners and sponsors whose presence elevated the event. She paid special tribute to the organisers and service providers whose commitment, creativity and professionalism brought the Superbrand vision to life.
In her remarks, she highlighted the significance of collective effort, noting that the success of the evening was a reflection of teamwork, excellence and shared purpose.
