Econet completes major EcoCash upgrade ………acknowledges some glitches remain

Business Reporter

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has completed a major scheduled system-wide upgrade for its EcoCash platform, though the company has acknowledged some customers are still experiencing some glitches.

The maintenance, which was conducted over the weekend after being scheduled more than a year in advance, was intended to enhance system capacity, improve customer experience and strengthen platform security.

In a communique, Econet said while most issues have been resolved, it recognises that “a few customers continue to encounter some glitches.”

The company has apologised for the inconvenience and stated that its support teams are working promptly to resolve the remaining issues.

It is coordinating closely with its service centres and channel partners to ensure all customer concerns are addressed.
