Econet launches XtraData Bundles, doubling data value for its customers

Econet Wireless Zimbabwe has launched XtraData Bundles, a new offering that gives customers up to twice as much data through bonus allocations, highlighting the company’s commitment to delivering greater value as demand for mobile internet continues to grow.

The new bundles combine a Bonus Bundle with a Main Bundle, enabling customers to enjoy additional promotional data before accessing the data they have purchased. The Bonus Bundle is always consumed first, after which usage automatically switches to the Main Bundle once the bonus allocation has either been exhausted or has expired.

To maximise value, the validity period of the Main Bundle only begins when the Bonus Bundle is depleted or expires, ensuring customers enjoy the full validity of their purchased data.

XtraData Bundles are available in five price tiers to cater for different data needs.

The entry-level US$5 bundle provides 2.5GB of Main Data and 2.5GB of Bonus Data, giving customers 5GB in total. The US$10 bundle includes 5GB of Main Data and 5GB of Bonus Data for a total of 10GB, while the US$15 option offers 10GB of Main Data and 5GB of Bonus Data, bringing the total allocation to 15GB.

Customers purchasing the US$25 bundle receive 15GB of Main Data and 10GB of Bonus Data, giving them 25GB in total. The premium US$35 package delivers 20GB of Main Data and 15GB of Bonus Data, providing a combined 35GB.

“Our customers are increasingly relying on data for work, education, business and entertainment,” Econet said in a statement.

“XtraData Bundles have been designed to reward our customers with additional promotional data while ensuring they continue to enjoy the full value of the data they purchase.”

Econet said the launch of XtraData Bundles forms part of its broader strategy to enhance customer value through innovative and flexible data products that respond to Zimbabweans’ evolving digital lifestyles.

Customers can purchase XtraData Bundles by dialling *143#, through the EcoCash Super App, the My Econet App and approved third-party channels. They can also check both their Bonus Bundle and Main Bundle balances via *143#, the My Econet App, Yamurai and the company’s My Web Selfcare.

According to Econet, customers who purchase additional XtraData Bundles before their existing bundles expire will have the new bundles added in line with the company’s bundle accumulation and consumption rules.

The launch comes at a time when demand for affordable, high-value mobile data continues to rise, as consumers increasingly seek flexible connectivity solutions that deliver more value without compromising  on quality.
