Economic saboteurs go after Finance ministry

Despite the Second Republic’s notable achievements, including the country’s economic rebound and widespread infrastructural development programmes, detractors are working tirelessly to discredit these efforts.

They are attempting to undermine the progress made by attacking officials from Treasury, but their attempts are likely to be in vain as the positive impact of the Second Republic’s initiatives continues to manifest.

Analysts noted the targeting of Government officials, particularly those in Treasury, are designed to influence some Western nations to impose fresh economic sanctions on Zimbabwe.

Spawning corruption fables, albeit with no evidence, the country’s detractors have been using anti-Zimbabwe media to peddle falsehoods of property acquisitions by top Government officials.

Last week, Western-sponsored media outlets were awash with articles meant to tarnish successful businessman, farmer, and Finance, Economic Development and Investment Promotion permanent secretary George Guvamatanga.

However, analysts said the attacks are unfounded.

An analyst, Dr Augustine Tirivangana said the achievements of Treasury in executing its duties diligently were for all to see.

“Indeed, the writing is on the wall. Even the blind can feel the palpability. In fact, what is adorable about the Second Republic’s leadership is its focus on what matters, consciously resisting the distraction from cantankerous negative media provocation by detractors in their varied colours.

“Now that the opposition parties have literally taken leave of their own accord, feeling their weight too heavy to carry against the tried and tested ruling party’s dominance, individual pockets of resistance and dirt-smearers can only stare at the developing infrastructure in awe,” he said.

Dr Tirivangana added that: “To our leadership, we say continue the unabated elephantine march towards the industrialization and economic renaissance of our great nation, united.”

Post-independence, Treasury under the Second Republic has been making significant progress, including the rehabilitation of roads, commissioning buildings, innovation hubs at state universities, air ambulances, high-end vehicles, solar boreholes, operational village business units, and several new dams.
