PRESIDENT Mnangagwa stands as a symbol of Zimbabwean resilience against imperialism.
Having taken over the reins from a history of colonial subjugation, President Mnangagwa’s presidency has demonstrated a commitment to Zimbabwe’s national sovereignty.
Despite economic sanctions and attempts to destabilise the nation by external actors, the New Dispensation defied all odds by embarking on a massive reconstruction of key economic enablers such as the rehabilitation of Hwange Units 7 and 8, dam construction for irrigation purposes, introduction of the pfumvudza/intwasa scheme, expansion of Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport, introduction of innovation hubs at tertiary institutions, opening of new mining companies and construction of health centres across the country among others.
President Mnangagwa’s experience and deep-rooted understanding of Zimbabwe’s challenges helps him to navigate the treacherous waters of economic recovery and stability.
The New Dispensation’s efforts to promote job creation, infrastructure development, and investment opportunities lay the foundation for sustainable growth.
President Mnangagwa’s commitment to anti-corruption measures demonstrates a determination to clean up Zimbabwe’s institutions and foster a fairer society.
As Zimbabwe heads to the polls on August 23 (tomorrow), it must resist the temptation to embrace external interference. The democratic process must be upheld, allowing the people’s voices to shape their destiny.
Imperialism must not be allowed to infiltrate Zimbabwe’s political landscape, as it threatens the achievements and aspirations of this vibrant nation.
Zimbabweans should be cautious and discerning as they make their choice. Each voter must reflect on the candidates’ strengths, weaknesses, and dedication to preserving the country’s independence. By prioritising national interests over external influence, Zimbabwe can pave the way for a future that is truly owned and shaped by its people.
Together, there is a need to build a resilient Zimbabwe that stands tall against the encroachment of imperialism, safeguarding the heritage and dreams of its citizens for generations to come.
Under President Mnangagwa’s leadership, the Second Republic has ushered in economic development and the building of the country.
The Second Republic has been aggressive in rolling out dam construction projects including the flagship Lake Gwayi Shangani Dam in Matabeleland North, which had remained in limbo since 1912.
The Second Republic has transformed the agriculture sector, which has already clinched the US$8,2 billion milestone to enable the country to achieve food and nutrition security and is now considering exporting surplus grain.
Milestones have also been recorded in the mining sector, which is close to meeting the US$12 billion milestone this year while the manufacturing, ICTs, human capital development, and rural industries clusters have also recorded significant strides in the last five years.
Contrastingly, Citizens Coalition for Change leader Advocate Nelson Chamisa, is backed by some Western countries and non-governmental organisations.
However, it is crucial to view this support through a critical lens. Western endorsement often comes with strings attached and raises concerns about potential interference in Zimbabwe’s internal affairs.
Zimbabweans must be cautious not to sacrifice their hard-won independence and sovereignty in exchange for external patronage.
It is vital to evaluate the potential consequences of relying extensively on foreign support. Zimbabwe’s historical struggles with imperialism serve as a reminder of the risks of compromising sovereignty for external aid.
History has shown that Western powers often have ulterior motives, seeking to control and exploit developing nations for their own benefit. In Zimbabwe’s case, resources such as lithium and gold are highly sought-after, and the danger of falling under the control of foreign interests is a very real possibility.
It is essential to prioritise leaders who have a genuine dedication to the well-being of the nation. An authentic focus on Zimbabwe’s citizens, rather than serving the interests of external forces, is vital for the country’s long-term growth and prosperity.
Zimbabwe’s valuable resources should be managed wisely, always with the welfare of the people at the forefront. Falling into the hands of Western puppetry would only serve to perpetuate a cycle of exploitation, leaving the nation vulnerable and its citizens suffering.
The integrity and independence of Zimbabwe must be preserved, safeguarding the nation against the potential fate.
As Zimbabweans head to the polls, it is crucial to prioritise leaders who display unwavering love for the nation and a genuine commitment to its independence and prosperity.
This requires a sober evaluation of the potential consequences of endorsing a candidate closely tied to Western powers. By electing leaders who prioritise the welfare and interests of Zimbabweans, the nation can forge its own path towards genuine progress and self-determination.
May Zimbabwe stand strong and resolute, safeguarding its resources, and prioritising the welfare of its people above all.
Together, the electorate should choose leaders who will protect Zimbabwe’s integrity and guard against the harmful influence of Western puppetry.
It is much easier for the opposition to fly to their handlers in the West than enter the State House.

Zanu-PF has been working hard, building its cells and has engaged in a cell verification process while some from within the opposition have started defecting to the ruling party citing disorganisation in the opposition ranks.
The ruling party is marching forward with its philosophy of leaving no one and no place behind as the major thrust towards developing the nation.
