ED confers liberation hero status on assistant director

PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has conferred liberation hero status on the late assistant director in his office, Cde Moses Ncube.

Cde Ncube, who died on Sunday last week, will be buried tomorrow at Busvumani Village under Chief Masunda in Zvishavane.

He was 55.

Cde Ncube suffered a stroke in 2015 and never fully recover from the ailment. He died at Parirenyatwa Hospital.

According to communication from zanu-pf secretary for Administration Cde Obert Mpofu, Cde Ncube will be buried in Zvishavane.

“His Excellency the President and First Secretary of zanu-pf, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, has conferred liberation hero status on the late Cde Moses Ncube, who died on September 23, 2018 and will be buried at Busvumani Village, Chief Masunda, Zvishavane,” read part of the statement signed by Cde Mpofu.

The late Cde Ncube joined the President’s Department on June 23, 1986 and rose through the ranks to become the provincial intelligence officer in 2006.

In 2013, he was promoted to the rank of assistant director.

He subsequently transferred to directorate’s planning and coordination division.

Mourners are gathered at house number 1524, Flame Lily drive, Westgate in Harare.
