ED to officiate at SAZ indaba

Victoria Falls Reporter
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to officiate at the 5th edition of the Standards Association of Zimbabwe (SAZ) Business Leaders Conference, which opens here today.

The conference is meant to interrogate the relevance of standardisation issues to economic sustainability and how these should create a shared future. SAZ president Dr Eve Gadzikwa said there will be high profile speakers from South Africa, East Africa and the World Bank as well as locals.

“We expect all the speakers that we have listed to come and also expect President Mnangagwa to open the conference.

“The President is talking of a middle income economy by 2030 and as SAZ we are 100 percent behind business. I believe standards create a shared future, which the President is envisaging. We see SAZ playing a very important role in promoting growth and trade,” said Dr Gadzikwa.

She said other participants include Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda and Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ) president Mr Tapiwa Chizana. Another speaker from East Africa will speak about the role of standardisation in the Continental Free Trade Area.

The conference ends on Friday. – @ncubeleon
