Eddie Murphy meets his match

Eddie Murphy had an unusual Wednesday morning wake-up while hitting up his second home — Studio City’s Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf — with girlfriend Paige Butcher. The 52-year-old funnyman and the Australian 34-year-old were offered roses from two female impersonators in the car park.

The “drag queen” duo — both sporting beards and department store dresses —appeared to be playing it all for laughs. It’s clear the rose-bearers weren’t very committed due to their lack of make-up, less-than-sexy footwear, and ratty wigs.

The couple of a year — who met on the set of Big Momma’s House 2 — did not accept the flowers, but did appear greatly  amused. Back in 1997, Eddie became a late-night talk show punch-line after undercover cops pulled him over for picking up a transvestite prostitute.

However, the Oscar-nominated actor insisted he was just being a good Samaritan by offering 20-year-old Atisone Seiuli a ride home.
“This,” Murphy told People magazine at the time, “is an act of kindness that got turned into a f****** horror show.”

Murphy, who was not charged with a crime, added: “I’m never giving anyone a lift again.”
Fans of the comedian didn’t buy his story because it was 4.45am on Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood — a famously gay-friendly neighbourhood.

Once inside Coffee Bean, Eddie further proved his sexuality by practically enveloping the Ford Model at the counter. The “Shrek” star was dressed in a Muhammad Ali T-shirt, black jeans, and matching trainers. Paige — born Jacinta — looked pretty in her usual loose beige vest, ripped blue jeans, and sandals.

The lovebirds then smiled their way past the comical queens in order to get to his black Mercedes SLS with gull-wing doors.
Butcher previously dated hip-hop mogul Russell Simmons and model Tyson Beckford.

Murphy has had a far messier love life having fathered seven children with four different women, including Spice Girl Mel B — whom he was forced to pay millions in child support.

The semi-retired actor recently released a music video for his first new track in 20 years — Redlight — with rapper Snoop Lion. The reggae song about racial profiling will appear on his upcoming album nine, due out early next year.

“All I’ve been doing is making music,” Eddie told Rolling Stone magazine. “I haven’t been working on films, haven’t been developing movies, or any of that ****.”

Back in May, CBS passed on a TV series spin-off of his hit films, “Beverly Hills Cop”. The Golden Globe winner said: “I’ve had all types of talks like that.

Nothing’s come together yet. All things still in the talking stage. Right now, this is what’s happening.”
Eddie has made music a once-a-decade hobby, having worked with Rick James on 1985’s Party All the Time and Michael Jackson on 1993’s “Whatzupwitu”. — Daily Mail.
