Edgars Stores, a subsidiary of Edgars Stores Limited, brought joy and excitement as the company donated sports kits and equipment to Tshelanyemba Primary School in Tshelanyemba, Matabeleland South, on Tuesday.
The clothing retail giant handed over rugby, netball, handball, soccer and volleyball sports kits and equipment valued at US$3 000.
The donation was made possible through the company’s annual “Be A Hero” Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, which aims to support marginalised communities.

During the handover ceremony, Edgars Stores Limited’s Retail and Manufacturing Director, Mr Peter Mnyama, said there is value of sports in children.
“Sport teaches more than just fitness. It builds confidence, discipline, and resilience. With these resources, we are unlocking doors for these students—not just for school activities, but we are also tapping into their future.”
“It’s about giving these children a reason to dream bigger, stay in school, and become disciplined, driven young people. Through play, they learn leadership and teamwork,” said Mr Mnyama.

This donation demonstrates Edgars Stores’ commitment to giving back to the community and investing in the next generation.
The school’s Headmistress, Ms Flatter Ncube, expressed gratitude.
“Access to such resources will breathe life into our sports curriculum and bring our students together in healthy competition. This heartfelt gesture by Edgars Stores is more than a donation—it is a spark of hope, opportunity, and transformation,” she said.
By equipping Tshelanyemba Primary School with essential sporting gear, Edgars has empowered young learners to dream beyond their classrooms and discover the champions within themselves.
