Egyptian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Salwa el Mowafi today paid a courtesy call on Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Jenfan Muswere in Harare.

The two discussed ways to enhance cooperation between Zimbabwe and Egypt in areas including media modernisation, infrastructure development, tourism, agriculture, health, and trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

Speaking after the meeting, Dr Muswere said the meeting was in line with Zimbabwe’s engagement and re-engagement drive, and aimed to tap into Egypt’s expertise in building modern cities, water purification, and public broadcasting.

Ambassador Mowafi said relations between the two countries were at their best and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening political, economic, and cultural ties, building on the long history of cooperation dating back to Zimbabwe’s liberation struggle.
