So far Mrs Vivian Ndlovu from Hwange and Mr Shepherd Mjanja from Western Commonage magistrates’ courts have joined the provincial courts at the Bulawayo magistrates’ courts. Mr Owen Tagu has been moved from Matabeleland South to the Bulawayo regional courts to replace Mrs Fadzai Mthombeni who has moved to Harare.
Mrs Rosemary Dube moved to the Hwange magistrates’ courts with Ms Nonkululeko Mkhonto moving to Filabusi to replace Ms Sheila Nazombe who is now in Gwanda. Mr Ndumo Masuku is now the Nkayi resident magistrate.
Mr Thabenkulu Dube, from Nkayi, Mr Peter Tomupeyi Madiba and A Madzorera both from Hwange will now come to the Bulawayo provincial courts.
Others who will be joining the Bulawayo bench are SB Chiwundura, a senior magistrate from Rusape, Ms Gladmore Mushove from Gwanda, Mr Phineas Mapiye and Mrs L Mapiye from Masvingo and Mpeiwa from Gokwe.
Senior magistrate Ms Mildred Matuvi moves to Hwange from Zvishavane.
Those leaving the Bulawayo magistrates’ courts are Ms Ntombizodwa Mazhandu to Mutare, Mrs Tancy Chipumha-Dube to Plumtree, Mrs Sophie Matimba to Hwange, Ms Sibongile Msipa for Gwanda, Mrs Thobekile Mkhosana-Matimbe to Kwekwe, Ms Lindiwe Maphosa to Harare, Ms Sithembiso Ncube to Kadoma and Mrs Sibonginkosi Mkandla-Nkomo to Chiredzi.
The circular states that provincial magistrates-in-charge of stations should ensure that all partly heard matters are completed between now and 30 March.
“All transferred magistrates should liaise with Messrs Chipumha and Macharaga at the Chief Magistrate’s office for their smooth movement to new stations and other logistical issues,” reads the circular.
Five magistrates are also being transferred from Harare province.
Contacted for comment on the transfers, the office of the Chief Magistrate demanded questions in writing but the response had not come by the time of going to press.
