Herald Reporter
Residents of Chimoio Flats in Sakubva, Mutare, last week lost household property worth thousands of dollars due to a Zesa electrical fault.

Residents who spoke to The Herald said the incident, which occurred on Friday morning, caused extensive damage to stoves, refrigerators, decoders, bulbs and laptops.

“It all started when Zesa workers came to change cables on our metre boxes. There was no electricity when they fixed the metre boxes. When power was restored, we heard  explosions. We are not sure what caused that, but our bulbs, stoves, refrigerators, decoders were damaged.

“My refrigerator, stove and laptop were damaged as a result of the fault,” said another resident.
