Elephant Camp Lodge receives international award

THE Elephant Camp Safari Lodge in Victoria Falls has won the 2015 international travellers’ choice award in Zimbabwe.
The lodge received the accolade from Trip Advisor, a United States travel firm that provides reviews of travel and related content across the globe.“Members of the Trip Advisor website rate hotels and the results of the travellers’ choice award are tallied according to these ratings. For the 2015 instalment, Elephant Camp ended up top of the list of Victoria Falls hotels and part of the list of the top 25 luxury hotels in Africa,” said Trip Advisor on its website.

Elephant Camp beat 12 other hotels that included Victoria Falls Safari Club, which came second and Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge which came third.

The other hotels and lodges were Ilala Lodge, A’Zambezi River Lodge, Elephant Hills Resort and the Victoria Falls Hotel.

Elephant Camp is a luxury tented safari camp  situated about 10 km from Victoria Falls town on a private wildlife concession.

The camp was completed in 2010 making it the newest safari style accommodation in the resort town.

It is situated on the Wild Horizons private wildlife concession on a slightly elevated hillock and has been cleverly designed so that each tent is private, yet each one having its own spectacular view across unspoilt bush veld towards the Zambezi Gorges.

According to the Elephant Camp website, the main complex is spacious and beautifully decorated with fine furnishing.

The enormous deck has a wonderful view right across to the towering column of spray rising from Victoria Falls.

The luxury lodge caters for a maximum of 18 guests only in the most gorgeous suites imaginable.

Staying on this private concession affords the visitors the opportunity to get close and interact with the elephant and other game at the Wild Horizon Wild Life Sanctuary.

The lodge’s rooms have private viewing deck and plunge pool, private lounge area, air conditioning and fans, bath, inside and outside shower, and all suites are mosquito proofed with mosquito nets among other facilities.
