THREE elegant ladies in Bulawayo have held their 2nd High Tea Party at a local lodge in an effort to empower each other while addressing various aspects of life.

The event sought to revive the city and raise awareness among women about the potential for growth through networking and entertainment.

The previous high tea was held at another lodge and focused on women and inheritance, as well as the challenges faced by women in business. This time, the focus was on health and well-being, with sessions on daily exercises, nutrition, oral healthcare and networking.

“We continue to look at different aspects in life and also empowering each other as women,” said Samukeliso Ncube (57), one of the event organisers.

“The idea was to revive Bulawayo and to bring awareness to women that we can come together and grow ourselves through networking and entertainment over a cup of tea.”

The other two are Nozwelo Ntini (46) and Sefelipelo Bhebhe (62).

The event featured sessions on health and well-being, including daily exercises led by Briggite Randle, nutrition advice from Sifelipilo Bhebhe, and insights into oral healthcare by Dr Ruva Nyoni. The aim was to provide women with valuable information that could contribute to overall wellness.

There were health promoting activities including massages, swimming, poolside activities and Free Oral Health Consultation with a mixture of music, dance, braai and drinks for entertainment.

Organisers mentioned the significance of using different venues to explore the beauty of Bulawayo.

“We are using different venues as a way of trying to get to know beautiful places around the City of Queens and Kings,” said Samukeliso.

In addition to focusing on personal growth and wellness, the High Tea Event aims of initiating income-generating projects that empower women. The ladies have created a platform whereby they exchange ideas while raising funds in order to generate money.

“Our aim is to try and draw as many women as we can so that in the process we start income-generating projects that empower us as women. As women, we also need to get together, have fun, and this helps for destressing and for relaxation away from home,” Mrs Samukeliso Ncube highlighted.

The High Tea event was a success in providing a platform for Bulawayo women to come together and empower each other through knowledge sharing, networking and entertainment, the organisers have highlighted on their efforts to host more of the events to foster women empowerment.
