ELVIS Moyo has dismissed speculation over his weight problem as part of a staged bid for a high selling rematch with DR Congo mixed martial arts champion Matunga Djiakasa after failing to make the weight limit last week.

Moyo failed by 800g to cut his weight to 120.2kg which is the limit for the heavyweight division of Extreme Fighting Championship.

He was stripped of the title last Thursday hours before he went into the ring for a non-title contest for him.
But for Djikasa, who won a second round technical knockout decision, it was a crowning fight.

“Weight limit is 120.2kg. I genuinely couldn’t cut a few grams because I had been ill and powering through…I could not pull out of the fight and I did not want to pull out of the fight…Yes the re-match becomes bigger and more mouthwatering because whether I fought or would have not fought the title, it was gone,” said Moyo from his

Edenvale, Johannesburg base.
Moyo hinted he may be in the ring in November in boxing here in Zimbabwe and in octagon in December.
