ZIMBABWEANS should embrace President Mnangagwa’s “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene” mantra and invest in their communities if the country is to transform into an upper middle-income society by 2030, Vice President Kembo Mohadi said yesterday.
He paid homage to President Mnangagwa for conceiving the “Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo” philosophy which he said was a source of motivation and inspiration for Zimbabweans to pursue socio-economic development.
In a speech read on his behalf by Minister of State for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Ezra Chadzamira at the commissioning of ED Mnangagwa Clinic in Shokoni communal lands in Chivi Central, VP Mohadi said Zimbabwe was witnessing rapid socio-economic transformation as its citizens had embraced President Mnangagwa’s call to build the nation “brick-by brick and stone- upon-stone”.
ED Mnangagwa Clinic was built by Kadoma-based businessman and Zanu PF member, Cde Jimayi Muduvuri, as a way of paying back to the Shokoni community, which is his ancestral home.
Cde Muduvuri also gave a new ambulance to ED Mnangagwa Clinic where war veterans, the physically-challenged and other vulnerable members of the community will get free treatment.
“I call upon fellow citizens to invest back into the community, thus demonstrating that true wealth lies in uplifting others. Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo.
“Allow me to extend my deepest gratitude to His Excellency the President Cde ED Mnangagwa for the wise guidance and development philosophy, Nyika Inovakwa, Igotongwa, Igonamatigwa neVene Vayo/ Ilizwe Lakhiwa, Libuswe, Likulelekelwe Ngabanikazi Balo.
“The national philosophy is a source of enduring motivation, inspiration and courage to build our districts and provinces brick by brick and stone upon stone,” said VP Mohadi.
The Government was committed to improving health delivery in all corners of the country in line with the philosophy of “leaving no one and no place behind”.
It was pleasing to note that new clinics were sprouting up in remote parts of the country for the benefit for vulnerable members of society.
“It is heartening to note that free medication is being made available to those who have given so much to our nation, our independence, our freedom, sovereignty and territorial integrity,” he said.
Zimbabweans like Cde Muduvuri, said VP Mohadi, were supposed to continue influencing socio-economic transformation in all parts of the country.
He hailed Cde Muduvuri for fulfilling his promise of building the ED Mnangagwa Clinic for the benefit of the ordinary people in Chivi.
Besides ED Mnangagwa Clinic, Cde Muduvuri also built the Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa Clinic in Kadoma, the Joshua Nkomo Clinic in Gwanda, Simon Muzenda Clinic in Gokwe, Rekai Tangwena Clinic in Nyanga, Herbert Chitepo Clinic in Mutare, Ndabaningi Sithole Clinic in Chipinge, Robert Mugabe Clinic in Zvimba and Sally Mugabe Clinic in Zvimba.
”Your compassionate approach to socio-economic support is highly laudable and has made this long held dream a reality for most communities around Zimbabwe. Keep it up,” said VP Mohadi.
Cde Muduvuri chronicled how he was involved in an accident that almost left his legs amputated, but was helped by President Mnangagwa in 2006 when he was still a Cabinet Minister. Then Minister Mnangagwa and his wife visited him at his house in Kadoma and gave him funds to seek medical attention in South Africa.
Cde Muduvuri said in 2018, President Mnangagwa again extended assistance to him to seek further medical attention in South Africa, and on both occasions the Head of State never asked for repayment.
“I was inspired to start building clinics and hospitals because of what President Mnangagwa did to me. He first assisted me in 2006 when he was still a Cabinet minister and helped me again to be what I am today.
“The President refused repayment of the money he had given me to seek medical attention and after I went home with my wife, I decided to use part of the money to help others and this is how I embarked on this journey to build clinics, to help the vulnerable.”
Cde Muduvuri said he was also naming the health institutions he was building countrywide after the country’s liberation war heroes to remind the present and the future generations of the country’s struggle for independence.
The Government has electrified the new clinic.
