IT’S an emotional return to Barbourfields Stadium for Highlanders fans after the death of three Bosso executive members, a supporter and an office employee in the last three weeks.
Bosso fans have not watched their team play at Barbourfields Stadium after the passing away of the five individuals- chairman Colonel (Rtd) Kenneth Mhlophe, treasurer Nkani Khoza, vice chairman Sifiso Siziba, supporter Mbalenhle Sibanda and finance officer Sihlalisiwe Mnkandla in July and August.
Mhlophe, Khoza, Siziba and Sibanda perished in an road accident on the night of 23 July, at the 60 kilometre peg along the Bulawayo-Harare Road.
Mnkandla passed away on 3 August.
This Sunday afternoon Highlanders is taking on Chicken Inn in a Chibuku Super Cup at the Threate of Dreams in Bulawayo.
Zimpapers Sports Hub spoke to several fans as they trickled into the stadium and some said a win this afternoon will be dedicated to the fallen executive members, supporter and club employee.
Some of the fans in the stadium last came to the same venue when the coffins of Mhlophe, Khoza, Siziba and Sibanda passed through Barbourfields Stadium for a memorial service before the bodies were buried at Lady Stanley Cemetery and Filabusi a day apart.
