ZIMBABWE international Lincoln Zvasiya faces a bleak future afterhe was deemed excess baggage by Kaizer Chiefs.
The defender was this month released from his contract, although there was still a year left on his deal with the Soweto giants.
Chiefs had allowed the former youth international to train with Royal Eagles and Cape Town All Stars while he was still contracted to them, but the defender failed to secure a deal before the close of the transfer window last week.
Gibson Mahachi, the player’s manager, said there was nothing promising for now as Zvasiya still needs to get his clearance from Chiefs.
“At the moment he is still in South Africa. He is still finalising his issue with Chiefs where he is sorting out his papers,” said Mahachi.
Zvasiya spent the last few months of last season loaned to Greek outfit OFI Crete.
He could not join Chiefs and briefly returned to Zimbabwe where he trained with Harare City but they decided against engaging him.
“Once the dust has settled, we will look for options and he needs to keep believing that something will come along,” said Mahachi.
