Engineers challenged

 

uplift rural communities was contributing to the erosion of dignity of Zimbabweans who have one of the highest literacy rates in Africa.

“I challenge engineers to come up with strategies and innovations that are cost effective and user friendly and relevant particularly to rural communities. Engineers should come up with innovations that can change lives,” Cde Mujuru said.

“Lets try and make a difference in our society.
“I am inviting fellow engineers, let’s be friends that have a goal to achieve change to those that have lost hope in our communities,” Cde Mujuru said.

She said the majority of people were living under the poverty datum level but the country has abundant resources.
“Majority of our people are poor and living under the poverty datum level.

“We should do something for those people.
“You the educated people should show us the results of your education,” she said.
Zimbabwe was losing millions of dollars through importation of food from neighbouring countries.
