England stumble in Mumbai

MUMBAI. — England stumbled to 182 for six in their second innings at stumps of the fourth afternoon of the fourth Test cricket against India in Mumbai yesterday.

England still need 49 more runs to avoid an innings defeat, and their cause was not helped with the wicket of Jake Ball (2) with what was the final delivery of the day’s play.

Jonny Bairstow is unbeaten on 50.Joe Root is the top-scorer thus far for the tourists with a well-constructed 77 but was trapped in front by a quicker one from Jayant Yadav.

Earlier, India captain Virat Kohli struck a sublime double century and his bowlers picked up three England wickets before tea to put the hosts on course for a series-clinching victory. — Reuters.
