English Brown leaves Chicken Inn

CHICKEN INN FC have parted ways with midfielder Callum “English” Brown who has failed to make an impact at the club he joined at the beginning of the season.

The midfielder only made a few cameo appearances and struggled to break into the Chicken Inn starting line-up.

His situation was not helped by injury setbacks which saw him on the sidelines for some time, particularly at the beginning of the season.

Chicken Inn coach confirmed the player’s departure.

“He is no longer with us. He is back in Harare and is training with his academy. He did his best but he failed to fit into the Chicken Inn system and as a result, there was an arrangement to have him leave,” said Matore.

Brown made history when he became the first White player to play in the local league since the turn of the millennium.

A product of Legends Football Academy also played for the Young Warriors.

Brown once signed for Harare City as a 16-year-old in 2017, but he was one of the unused Under-20 players in the squad.

He hogged the limelight when he was selected for the 2017 Cosafa Under-17 tournament by Moses “Bambo” Chunga.

Brown nicknamed the “White Lion” by adoring WhaWha fans after turning on the style for the now relegated Prisons outfit last year, was on the radar of Dynamos.

Some of the Dynamos fans, charmed by his dazzling shows, had even pledged to try and bring him to the Harare giants.

Dynamos, who reportedly dragged their feet, were, however, beaten to Brown’s signature by Chicken Inn. – @innocentskizoe
