Entrepreneur of the Week

This week, we celebrate Mrs Precious Murena-Nyika, the founder and managing director of Winfield Strategy & Innovation, as our Entrepreneur of the Week.

An inspiring figure, Mrs Murena-Nyika is also the driving force behind Furnt, a one-stop shop for affordable and functional home and office furniture and decor.

Additionally, she founded Hatch Talent Solutions, an HR services provider specialising in advisory services and staff outsourcing, including virtual options.

She established Winfield Strategy & Innovation after a successful career at Lafarge-Holcim Zimbabwe (now Khaya Cement) — a prominent cement, dry mortars and aggregates business with 400 employees and an annual revenue of US$70 million.

Mrs Murena-Nyika, who describes herself as a “results-driven and accomplished executive” with over 16 years of experience, excels in leading teams across various domains: strategy, innovation, operations, human resources management, business consulting and communication. Recognised for her collaborative leadership, strategic influence and exceptional storytelling abilities, Mrs Murena-Nyika is skilled in building turnaround strategies across all organisational levels.

Furthermore, she demonstrates a unique ability to combine statistics and financial data with intuition and judgement, effectively navigating competitive and ambiguous markets.

A multi-award winner both locally and internationally in areas like sustainability, leadership, business management, people management, and diversity and inclusion, she boasts a proven track record of success across diverse industries, including retail, manufacturing and business consulting.

Mrs Murena-Nyika has led the implementation of various impactful projects, including life-changing affordable housing, and the development of digital operational solutions to enhance efficiency during the Covid-19 pandemic. Her expertise lies in optimising revenue figures, formulating business strategies with meticulousness and ensuring their rigorous execution to deliver tangible results.
